Daniel B. Barnum, Architect, FAIA

Daniel B. Barnum, FAIA, of Houston, Texas, holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from Rice University. Between those attainments, he served in the US Navy on active duty in Vietnam and remained in the US Naval Reserve until retiring as a Commander in 1977. He practiced architecture for more than 50 years, designing a variety of buildings, from houses to high-rise office buildings, until he retired in 2015. Among his major projects are One Shell Plaza and Two Shell Plaza in downtown Houston, and Houston Lighting and Power, which is now the Houston Public Works office building. Barnum is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, the highest honor bestowed on its members by the AIA.
